The feeding ritual over, Jamie made his way back home, bumping into Kenny looking for him. “Bin searching ages for you, Jamie; where’ve you bin?” A sudden thought dawned on Kenny. “Don’t tell me... you’ve been spying on old Henny Williams again, haven’t you?” Jamie nodded. “Well, you’re as fascinated with her and her animals as I am.” “Nah I’m not...” “Yes you are,” retorted Jamie, giving him a sporting shove sideways. Kenny cavorted around, teasingly, clucking, cawing and flapping his arms to imitate wings. “Allo Jamie,” he croaked. “I’m a chicken― Cock a doodle doo! I’ll lay you an egg if you like” “Don’t be a moron,” sniggered Jamie. “Cockerels don’t lay eggs.” He dived on Kenny, sending the pair of them rolling in the grass, giggling helplessly. Kenny sat up, and picked a grass dart off a stalk, lobbing it at Jamie. “What was Henny up to then...? clucking away at her hens, I bet?” * Jamie had got into the habit of seeing Sasha to bed, reading her stories, which amused Vicky― Sasha, still too small to understand. Standing at the kitchen sink, Vicky gazed out the window at the moon, seeming to drift lazily from cloud to cloud. She paused and looked thoughtfully towards the kitchen door, wondering where Jamie had got to. Wiping her hands, she wandered out into the hall, and hearing no sounds from above, quietly ascended the stairs. Gently teasing open the door to the nursery, she peered in; Jamie was bent over Sasha’s cot smiling down at her. Moonlight streamed through the window, competing with the night-light, silhouetting Jamie into a fantasy of eerie shadows and light. Vicky went to speak, when suddenly she became aware of his voice softly speaking to Sasha. * Sasha * Oh Sasha, Sasha thine eyes so bright Where moonbeams play in reflected light, What mysteries lay enshrouded there? To tempt the hearts of suitors fair. Such beguiling gaze from thee impart No mercy shown, thou stealeth the heart. Air truth in your smile so all may perceive Sincerity, affection, no will to deceive. Journey on precious one immersed in dreams Thy spirit to fleet in mystery unseen. From nebulous ventures thy soul will return Once more into darkness; life’s flame still to burn. Oh Sasha, Sasha, thine eyes so bright Where sunrays play in reflected light. Let he who is blessed with humility Voyage with thee― to infinity. * His short poem took Vicky’s breath away. There was nothing profound about it; a simple, intimate offering that celebrated the bond between a father and his child. Vicky silently closed the door, feeling her vigil there had intruded upon a rare spiritual moment between two souls. There was no question of feeling left out, as she endorsed every word.

Rather than dwell on evil doings, ‘A Voyage to Infinity’ series seeks to illustrate lifestyles that focus on singular, physical aspects and individual desires in a life. The events and conduct of incarnate souls, whether unwitting or premeditated, builds into a story that goes on to reveal how others’ actions might affect the lives of other people around them, and the disadvantages it could mean for the perpetrators in the life beyond. In this second book of the series, ‘A Rendezvous with Evil’, Vicky and Jamie adhere to a preconceived plan, initiated in the first book, and which is gradually revealed to them by their spiritual guides in this second work. As they grow up, they are drawn together, and become aware of the purpose for their lives on this world. The deeper they get involved with each other, they sense aspects from a previous life that ties them to the Infinite One, and other chosen souls. As proven souls from this previous life, other similar souls begin to home in on them, and together they set about bringing their plan to reality.
About the Author
Since writing the first of his books, it has always been the author’s main objective to try and help the creatures and people of our planet. The trends on Earth remain the same, with violence and insurgency continuing to impact on lives. The intensity of the changing climate adds to the demise of the poorer communities, as catastrophic events, around the globe, wreak havoc on food production as well as desecrate the crop growing areas. The theme of his seventh book; the second in the series ‘A Voyage to Infinity’, focuses on those stricken communities around the world, and how the author believes the need to help one another, in our present civilisation, is reaching critical proportions. In the introductions of this new series, the author continues to suggest that we view life logically; how by helping each other, we focus on spiritual values that hypothetically speaking, might be developing the soul while on a similar voyage to infinity. He persists in his belief; the demise facing humanity can only be addressed by a united world, and continues to remain dedicated towards that end, and to our Maker.
