About the Book

Candid poems and paintings pair! Indeed, original same-titled contemporary imagistic poetry and paintings seduce, titillating both literally and figuratively. Also, dominant familial and social themes encourage free interpretation—the goal of modern art and verse! Essentially, “colors” mix and blend—poetically and artistically.

About the Author

Linda Gantt, an English and Psychology instructor for twenty years, finds abstract contemporary art to be far different from the teaching of English Composition—with its more rigid and structured logic. Though she has painted primarily with acrylics for fifteen years, only recently has she begun seriously studying and experimenting with colorful forms and textures, attempting a multi-dimensional appearance that dramatically draws the eye further inward into the seeming chaos. Linda has exhibited many acrylic abstracts at the Center for Arts and Sciences in Lake Jackson, Texas. The same experimental approach she applies to her contemporary free verse, though sometimes more planning is required for her “mixing and blending” of poetic elements. Linda’s publishing history includes ‘Red River Review’ and other literary journals/sites. Currently, she resides in West Columbia, Texas, with her husband Gary and shih tzu named Chance.
