Step into the depths of a struggling soul that learns of its personal strengths through the struggles, the pains, the anguish, and the faith that becomes the catalyst to ones own personal achievements.

The Struggle, The HopeA Poetic Faith, is a book of poetic encouragement more than anything.  It was designed for the reader who is ready to move forward and deal with past issues.  Hopefully you will feel and understand what the writer is conveying through the truths and the real.  This book is for anyone ready to turn past negatives, into future positives.

Gregory Tate was born and raised in our nation’s capital, Washington D.C. As a young boy, he and his family later moved to Virginia where he spent the other half of his life before moving on, joining the U.S. Army.  As an amateur guitarist, Gregory has played in local churches that he’s been a member of and was lead guitarist of a Christian band.

Gregory has worked as a counselor with different youth organizations at brief times during his career.

His life has not been an easy one. It is with his past experiences that he wishes to share lessons learned and how to cope with diverse situations. He highly reflects on his adolescent years which were some of the most tumultuous times in his life. Even after exiting the military and joining college, he dealt with so many conflicts that it would have been easier for him to have just given up. It was one key thing that kept him alive and looking towards the future. To this day, he wishes to share what has helped him along the way of this waveringly path we call LIFE. He wishes for no one to give up on their dream, and to keep pressing forward regardless of the outlook. Staying focused and maintaining a positive attitude will help you to overcome obstacles in your life.

“Keep dreaming your dreams" Greg says, "and be in tune with the positive energy that you feel even though you may not feel it as much as you wish”.

He always acknowledges Christ in his life and always tell folks, “It never hurts to trust God anyway”.

May this book help to comfort, bring some laughter, and most of all, bring some encouragement and healing to those seeking these things.

Some of the poems included:

New Found Freedom

It's time to express

what I've already repressed

for many years the

internal tears.

But now at the dawn

as I yawn there's a new found Freedom.

Emancipated from the

emotionally inflicted wounds

of those I thought so near,

now I ascend to a dimension

for which there is no fear.

Don't Ignore Me

Why are people missed so when they die?

Yet when they were alive they were barely recognized.

Must I too die to be recognized?......to be loved, to be felt

to be thought of?

The appreciation of a live man is more important than the

inscription on a dead man's tomb.

So here I stand, contributing, caring , sharing, and loving

those things not for self gain,

but to have a feeling of self worth, to be appreciated.

Everybody wants to be loved!  So study me now.

Don't wait 'til I'm dead.

Faith and the Real

Faith and the Real

They need not be separated.

Both must shake hands and be in agreement.

When the Real is down, Faith must bring him up.

And when the Real is well, Faith must not be boastful.

Faith must remain innocent yet available.

The Real must always trust in Faith.

Faith is innocent yet Powerful!

Endless Power

I walk outside and look up into the sky.

I see horses made of millions of stars galloping by.

Hundreds, thousands of horses charging towards

and endless sky.  Brilliant colors light the sky as these

horses go racing by.

I try counting them but it's just too many.  Their power

can be felt.  Some sort of physical and spiritual energy

coming from this galaxy of horses.

Freedom Flyer

Wings spread over oceans glow.

Past experiences begin to flow.

Releasing all negative energy

back to the earth.

Sailing free on God's breath

lifts me to rebirth.

My soul was once tried, but the Spirit

ushered in a strength I could not hide.

Breaking through the forces and barriers that

once enstrangled me, like the Phoenix flys,

I'm now free!
