AuthorHouse softcover books are formatted as Black & White trade paperbacks. Trade paperback is an industry term that describes a book that is of better production quality. These books are produced in a larger size and offered at a higher price than a mass-market paperback format. Mass-market paperbacks are generally cheaply made and printed on newsprint or other low-quality paper, which will discolour and disintegrate over time. Trade paperbacks, on the other hand, meet a higher standard and are printed on high-quality paper.
Minimum page count: 48 pages
Maximum page count: 828 pages for a 8.25" x 11" book.
AuthorHouse offers trade paperbacks in the following trim sizes:
Black & White
- 5" x 8"
- 6" x 9"
- 8.25" x 11"
For colour books AuthorHouse offers two high quality softcover options.
Colour
We offer two kinds of binding for colour books:
- Saddle Stitch (stapled) only for books between 4-20 pages
- Perfect bound (glued binding) only for books between 52-480. 480 is the maximum page count available. If you are likely to exceed this page count, please consider two volumes.
- Either of the two bindings above for page counts between 24-48.
Please Note: With Saddle Stitch binding we can allow full bleed images from left to right. With Perfect Binding, images can not bleed into the gutter area. We are not able to publish landscape titles at this time.
