This is a true story. Giuseppe Camillo came to Glasgow, with two of his brothers, Antonio and Tommaso, when he was just fifteen years old. He lived most of his life in Scotland. It was a happy life with much joy and laughter, but there were times of great sadness; that is where the title of the book comes from.
Giuseppina Palombo (Pina) was born in Glasgow, an only child. She had always wanted to write about her parents, particularly her father, who worked hard all his life and had a very successful business. This is her first attempt at writing, and has already started work on her second book. Although Pina is now 82 years old, she still has the same enthusiasm and zest for life as when she was in her twenties!
