I chose AuthorHouse as my publisher initially for the trilogy because I had a dream, but I didn’t know where to go with this. I had already sent it out to a number of trade publishers, all of them wanted my original trilogy House of Darkness House of Light but they wanted to slice it and dice it and cut it down to size. And I said ‘No, this is my family memoir, this is a chronicle of the events that occurred in our home and nobody gets to chop it up’. And so I got very quiet and very prayerful and really meditative one night, and when I woke up the next morning, I was in the midst of a dream and I was holding what turned out to be volume one of my trilogy. And I turned the book sideways, and I saw AuthorHouse, and I didn’t know AuthorHouse existed. I got on the computer. I Googled the name thinking that I’ll just take a chance and there they were. I called them, and before the end of the day I had a contract on the book. It was the most fortuitous thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life when I dreamed the name AuthorHouse and awoke to the reality of it.
