Rose picked up the little black book. It had a white cross on the front cover. "Tell me about the two roads," she asked. She loved to hear Black Elk talk about the two roads that met in a cross. "This one that goes up and down," he told her, "is the good red road. It goes from the north where the white giant lives and from whence came White Buffalo Calf Pipe Woman to bring the pipe of peace and harmony to our people - to the south from whence the little nature beings come that bring the gift of life to all things like your friends, the standing ones." "The trees" interpreted Rose. He smiled and touched her face and she felt as if he had touched her heart. "Yes, the trees. And this is the fearful black road." He traced his finger from left to right. "It goes from the place in the west where the thunder beings live to the place in the east where Brother Sun is always shining." And that is the road we must walk so that we can bring destruction to our foes." Rose had learned that power comes from knowledge of the fearful road. "And what power do we get from the good red road?" asked Black Elk. "The power to make live." "Good." "Tell me about the middle bit. Tell me about the flowering tree," requested Rose, wanting to hear again about the tree which was her favourite thing of all. Black Elk grinned. "Where the two roads meet is the center of all things" he told her. "It is the center of you and it is the center of me. It is the center of a great people - a great nation. When I was on the earth and this knowledge was given to me I thought the nation was my Lakota people only, but I came to know that it meant all manner of peoples, not just the Lakota, for all peoples are my relatives. When I walk the good red road the tree in the center is blooming and healthy, and the nation shall live, but if I only walk the black road the nation shall suffer." "I like it when I walk the good red road," said Rose. "But you must also walk the fearful road my little calf." Black Elk knew that her fear was great and that she was learning great things, and now it was good to show her the vision. "Come, I shall show to you the knowledge that was given to me when I was your age upon the earth."....

About the Author
Eliza White Buffalo has been a shaman from birth. In her childhood she made thousands of out of body journeys into the spirit world. She travelled with a spirit lady called May, who took her to an imaginary place called The Green. It was in this place that Eliza met with Black Elk who taught her much about who she is, who he was, and the divine purpose of her life. He showed her much of the great vision when she was nine years old. He taught her how to survive the difficult black road and how to be happy from within. Eliza had a near death experience in 2002 due to a serious road accident. She believes she died for three minutes, and was sent back to do the divine work she had come to do. For the past nine years Black Elk has been guiding Eliza in fulfilling this divine life’s purpose. The Two Roads Trilogy is a story based upon Eliza’s experiences in the Spirit World, her experiences with Black Elk and other spirits, and her many past life memories.
