“Sorry to disappoint.” Came a woman’s voice instead. I turned around, in shock and was greeted with a even more surprising face of a fine woman. I hoped Mr. Wallace would never come back if I got to see her every few days. Her hair brushed far passed her shoulder easily, as she stood from the desk with a light smile on her face, that sent my body into a hot response that I ain’t expect to happen. “I’m Bell,” she rolled her sleeves up her arms casually, showing more of her coffee skin. It took me awhile before I responded back. I couldn’t believe I was havin’ trouble talkin’. My heart sped up and my lips went dry and I couldn’t look away from her, even if someone paid me to. “You must be Darin, right?” She spoke slowly, tucking her long hair behind her left ear. All I could do was nod. “Well, it’s nice to meet you.” I just nodded again. “Mr. Wallace will be back in a few minutes.” She told me. I felt like a idiot and felt that she felt I was an idiot. Her bein’ here took me by surprise. I came to clear my head, but now I had to get clear of a whole new somethin’ else. Bell was so beautiful. Her eyes lit up with every word she spoke. And my heart clenched with everything and anything else she’d say. “Are you alright?” She asked me. It wasn’t a bad question to ask. I was still standin’ as stiff as a board and didn’t take no other step from there the second I saw her face. “Yeah, um, just was expecting a man.” Not a firm bodied woman with a perfect face. I thought. She laughed, briefly. “I understand. I can take a step out if that’ll make you feel better.” “No,” I told her more sternly than I planned. “I mean, you don’t have to do that. Your fine just like that.” In more ways than one, I thought to myself. Glimpsing over her petite frame in blue jeans and a white v-neck, that clung to her body in all the right places, was making my body respond over and over again. Taking a breath to calm down, I moved to take a seat. “That’s alright. I have to head to work.” “Where do you work?” I asked abruptly. I knew it wasn’t none of my business, but I didn’t wanna lose this girl. She sent me racing and I wanted to see what I could get racing from her.
