About the Author

Author Nicola Houlton tells the story of Henrietta the Hippo as she explores strange and fun new fantasy worlds with her friends. Houlton, who grew up in England, first invented the fictional character at the age of nine, using her imagination to create make-believe adventures that would take her own school friends to places more interesting than the grey school playground during playtime. Her niece and nephew, Ellea and Denny, later became the inspiration for characters in her first book in the series of Henrietta’s World. Houlton has lived in the United Arab Emirates since 2010.
