Heartbreak in a Young Man

About the Book

Everyone goes through a bad breakup. Sometimes we feel as if we lost “the one,” and it just hurts to lose the one you love. Men more often than not have difficulty expressing themselves because of the stereotypes of society, especially black men who seem to wear the toughest armor. These are some poems about my breakup and how I chose to express my thoughts and feelings through poetry. This is also to show women that men desire to have the one they love back even if it may not happen and that a breakup is hard for us too.

About the Author

T’Andre Tyre is a poet whose passion for poetry developed during the 4th grade. One of his early works was a poem entitled “Life Is Like A Roller Coaster” for his English project. Throughout the years he continued with his writings in which then expanded into the realm of spoken word. In his early teens, T’Andre found it difficult to express himself to others so poetry became a therapeutic tool. Also while struggling with depression and anxiety, the young poet found his voice. By taking numerous classes as well as joining and being president of his own club during his days at Frederick Community College he truly found an understanding and love for poetry. He currently received his Associate’s degree in Social work at Frederick Community College. He will continue his education in Social work at Bowie State University. During his spare time, he likes- to hang out with friends, spend time with his god-children, spend time with family, listening to music and writing poetry.
