About the Book

The book is about a teenager named Kareem Koomeenie who lives in Staten Island. He’s known in his neighborhood for making the best Kool-Aid. His nickname was Kemiekoo. In the project neighborhoods, there’s always one person who can do things a lot of people can’t do as great. He was one of those kids. He was very popular, smart, and had many friends. After the death of his parents, he lives with his brother and sister-in-law in another neighborhood. He competes in a drink-making competition where things go horribly wrong. He passes away after someone poisons his drink. Years later, another kid by the name of Rahkeem Bolden—yes, kids, that’s me—is now the new up and coming Kemiekoo. He enters the competition that gets the original Kemiekoo’s ghost attention. What happens next? Just going to have to read the book.

About the Author

My real name is Rahkeem Bolden. The R in my author name is for Ronald. Ronald was my father’s name who passed away when I was 17 years old. He passed away due to HIV. I was very close to my father. Went to a lot of places with him and respected him. He made a lot of bad decisions which I make sure I learn from them to prevent myself from doing so. The C is for Caleb. My brother Caleb Wilder passed away a few years ago. Another man who was a big part in my life. I traveled with him every time I was around him. We always hung out when we were around each other. His passing took another big hurt in my life. I just had to keep on going since I knew he wouldn’t want me to put my life on hold.
