She ran as fast as her little legs could take her. After what seemed like an eternity, Alexandria was racing through the front door of her house. She stopped suddenly inside the door and stared straight ahead. Just in front of her on the stairs was a teenage girl with locks of auburn hair and big, violet eyes. She was dressed in a long, glowing green cloak that seemed to shimmer with every slight movement that she made. She also carried a stick with a bright blue ball at the top of it. Alexandria was mesmerized and she stood in awe of this beautiful girl. “Where’s Grams?” Alexandria finally managed to say. “Your grandmother is gone, little one. She has gone to a better place,” the girl replied softly as she smiled. “I am here to protect you now.” There was a long, awkward silence. Alexandria stared open-mouthed at the girl. “I am Alyssia, the Star Sorceress of the Starsonia. And you shall be a sorceress, too,” the girl in the glowing green cloak said with a smile.

About the Book
A lonely, bullied, and frightened little girl named Alexandria discovers a whole new world full of magi. With the help of a beautiful sorceress, a magical bird, and a shimmering key, Alexandria fights her fears and battles evil as she finds out a secret...a secret that could change her lif forever. This is Meegan Mc Cauley's first published book. She always had a passion for writing and with many other ideas in the works, she hopes to see her stories come to fruition inthe coming years. She lives with her husband and daughter in Colorado, where she grew up. Aside from writing, Meegan enjoys horseback riding, hiking, traveling, and having adventures with her family.
About the Author
Meegan McCauley grew up an only child in Colorado. She has actually been writing since the age of 7 when she "published" a Christmas story about her parents called "The Santa Claus That Wasn't." Although only her parents and her 2nd grade class read the book, she promised to write many more. Creative writing has always been a passion of Meegan's as she completed a 100 page story at the ripe age of 10. Other stories followed: "Just Geena's Luck," a children's story at 11; "Evil Is As Evil Does," a play at 13; "Matthew and Rose," a different take on "Romeo and Juliet" at 14; "Gone," a screenplay at 20. Although none have ever been published, Meegan has worked on her writing for nearly two decades. Now at the age of 35, Meegan is excited about publishing her first book and hopes to publish many more throughout the years. She is working on a novel as well as a non-fiction story highlighting her battle with anxiety. She currently lives with her husband and daughter in the same town where she grew up. She is an avid hunter/jumper horseback rider and enjoys watching movies, hiking, spending time with her husband and daughter, and of course, writing.
