About the Book

Dooley’s Pub: A Collection of Erotic Short Stories was written as an intertwined collection of erotic love stories about common sexual events. This book is not intended to be pornography. It is written to allow the reader to experience the complex buildup that must precede a sexual event to understand the needs and sensitivities of a partner and to feel a true sense of fulfilment and satisfaction when you are done. The author has interjected clinical thoughts related to the overreaching concept of morality as it relates to human sexuality. The clinical examples take the reader through acts of same-sex and opposite-sex relationships. The reader should feel as though he or she has experienced the events. The enduring message from this series of stories is to go slow, have patience, and respect your partner. The rewards for you and your companion are magnitudes greater than rushing to a fast conclusion. If you need to get there in a hurry, take the interstate. If you want to enjoy the journey, take the back roads; there is much more to see, to do, and to have such as memorable experiences. The art of lovemaking is taking the back roads.

About the Author

Roger C. Zocort, MD, is a professor and practicing physician at a major academic university teaching hospital. He carries an active practice of many patients under treatment as well as teaching residents and medical students. The material that is presented in this collection of short stories takes place around a fictional pub located in Portland, Maine. The characters depicted in these stories are purely fiction and bear no resemblance to actual persons or places. However, the encounters between the characters, the graphic content of their revelations, and the circumstances of their relationships are inspired by actual case histories accumulated during many years of the author’s practice as a clinical physician. Each of these case histories was the topic of student lecture material during teaching encounters. At the encouragement of many of his peers, he was convinced that this information would be valuable to persons outside of the medical field. This collection of stories, and their associated messages and lessons to be learned, was documented. The case histories have been rewritten as narrative scenarios between two or more people. The reader will find that the clinical conclusion and the question-and-answer teaching commentaries following each of the stories will inspire a deeper insight into their own intimate relationships with others. Dr Zocort has authored hundreds of scientific articles, books, book chapters, and lectures throughout his academic career. This is Dr Zocort’s’ first venture into a literary venue outside of the field of pure science, and it is written for non-professionals. Roger C. Zocort, MD, is a pen name, but his rank, title, and teaching experience are quite real, as are the composite characters presented in this book.
