AS i put on the Supremes old 45 record. To serenade myself too sleep. I could hear her voice callimg my name Jamie oh my Jamie. what was that am i freaking out? or did i really hear her voice?. Oh my I better stop drinking this homemade Kool-Aide. As I toss and turn clutching to my pillows so very tight. I serenade off to a world of mystic musical instruments the sound of 1960s.There I was standing on this street called the boulevard .As I turned around The sign read welcome i mean welcome everyone . welcome what ? I stop and pinch myself.and said oh my where am I ?. The sign read welcome to Detroit the Detour. As i started walking I could see the old buildings that used to be theywere here right in front of me. I could see all the people walking dress up in style. They were walking towards me. They didnt even stop to look at me. They were singing in harmony.

About the Book
My Dream of Florence Ballard: A Detroit Rose was developed from my mom telling me all these wonderful stories of Motown music in the 1960s. She remembered Florence Ballard when she lived in Detroit. I would ask my mom about it when I was a child growing up. I would say, “Mom, please tell me the stories of Florence Ballard,” and my mom would say, “Oh, you want to hear another Flo story.” Flo was Florence Ballard’s nickname. It is short for Florence. My mom would light up her cigarette and tell me such beautiful stories of Florence Ballard. I would be mesmerized by her stories. From my mom’s stories, I dreamed of meeting Florence Ballard. And upon waking up from my dream, I wrote my dream of Florence Ballard. It is a fiction story written for all genders and all ages. This book is full of entertainment and original songs I wrote. It takes place in Detroit, Michigan, during the 1960s. The story takes you into a dream of watching Florence grow again, and we get to watch her revolve again. In this story, Florence Ballard is a shining star. Her life and music lives on forevermore.
