My daughter you are heaven sent! God created you just for me! He knew I needed you as much as you needed me. I promise to be the best mother I can be, and I vow these things to you… I vow to create a special bond with you that will last forever and a day. I vow to teach you everything I know before I send you out on your way. I vow to never stop gaining knowledge as I know I must pass this information along to you. I vow to protect you and when you're out of my reach, I pray that "Mama's prayers" will cover you. I vow that the foundation created will serve as a voice that will call you back whenever you stray the wrong way. I vow to stand beside you during your dark days, to love you hard and kiss you soft even when I can't find the words to say. I vow to forgive you when you mess up in hopes that it teaches you the power of forgiveness. I vow to pray for you daily and ask God to order your steps for you to see your vision. I vow to be the example you need to see, and I will dedicate my love, my time and all of me. May this sacrifice serve as guidance to transform you from a PRINCESS into a QUEEN! And I vow to love you unconditionally even when my flesh has faded into a memory.

The relationship between a mother and daughter can be influential in so many ways. Becoming a mother is something most little girls often dream about when they are younger. Charnell had this same dream and prayed for this very blessing. At the age of twenty-six, her prayers were answered, and her daughter is everything that she hoped and dreamed. Throughout the journey of raising her daughter, Charnell has realized that there will come a time when she will no longer be here physically with her daughter. In the world we live in today, there are so many young mothers being taken away from their children due to illnesses or sudden tragic events. Reading or hearing about these sad stories brought so much pain and fear that Charnell wanted to prepare for all of the possibilities that could occur. Therefore, Charnell decided to write short letters to her daughter. Her daughter will have access to these letters anytime as they will serve as a constant reminder of Mommy’s love. But while Charnell is still here, she hopes to teach her daughter as much as she knows and to love her as much as she can. In these letters, you will find love, guidance, and peace! May you pass these letters on to your children or even create your very own!
About the Author
Charnell Fitchett is a 28-year-old self-published author. Her first book My Eyes Tell a Story, The Ink Speaks the Truth, was published while attending college. Even with a bachelor's degree in Sociology and a master's degree in Forensic Psychology, Charnell continues to find time for her true passion of writing. Her current book, Letters to my Daughter came so naturally. She has many roles in life as a daughter, sister, friend, teammate, case worker and published author. However, stepping into the new roles of motherhood and becoming a wife have changed her outlook on life. These roles have been new-found inspiration. Her goal is to continue to inspire others to write and share their gifts with the world. Her words are her truth and they will take you on a journey that will ignite and positively encourage a new generation.
