The business world today is at a crossroad with financial accounting and information technology. This has added pressure on the accounting profession to keep abreast with the fast moving technology. According to Professor Jane K Winn of the University Of Washington School Of Law, “Financial institutions were at the forefront in creating the global information economy as it exists today”. Finance today relies on information technology. To explore the integration of these two industries, Sage line 50 has been used in this book at the beginners’ level at least to give seekers of employment a hands-on experience. It has also given some financial explanation and treatment of transactions in these environments. Volume two will explore more on the interaction of IT System with Financial Accounting.

About the Author

Dunzo has a passion in Accounting and finance. This led him to leave the banking industry in pursuit of a leading qualification in accounts. He studied and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in addition to a bachelor degree in accounting and finance. He set up in practice in 1995 as Dunzor Laurel and Co mainly to consult for growing businesses. As an extension, he opened an Employability and Skills Workshop in Oxlow Lane, Dagenham London using mainly Sage line 50 as the IT tool for practical experience. Dunzo developed a robust, versatile and user friendly accounting system for small businesses. This has helped some companies in this bracket attain PLC status. He is also an Oracle Financial Expert and trainer for Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet. In addition, an Account Production Program has been configured by him, using the power of Microsoft Excel and Macros. This has produced filed accounts and returns and will soon be floated in the market. Dunzo is presently lecturing in the field of economics, accounting and finance specialising in Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Management Accounting, Numeracy and IT Application for Financial Accounting.
