About the Book

Mr. Gillie is the cat that my son adopted from a shelter. He had been stray cat that was picked up in the streets, and they put him up for adoption. Christopher didn’t want a kitten but an older cat, and Mr. Gillie chose him by climbing onto his lap at the shelter. He settled down and had a dreamy look as if he was seeing butterflies. When Mr. Gillie came to Gramma’s house, he would run out the back door to the backyard where there were butterfly bushes and lots of butterflies. He always fell asleep under the bushes, where there was lots of shade. The butterflies were never scared of him, even landing on him. All his friends are the little animals that visit the backyard. Mr. Gillie was a character and played and loved everybody to the fullest. He had since gone to butterfly heaven, but his memories and stories will live on. Thanks again to my son, Christopher, for adopting such a wonderful cat.
